This the first tail I've ever made. It's made from 100% acrylic yarn. It is about 7-8 inches in length. I followed Zullala's tutorial on YouTube to make this. She said not to use Red Heart brand yarn, and that's exactly what I bought on accident X3 I didn't want to go back to the store so I just used what I had. I made it a loooot smaller than she did. Hers was about 2-3 feet. So all I did was just use less yarn for the base braid. I used about 4 pieces of yarn for each section of the braid. I've never sewn before, but it was easy to get used to after a little bit. I also didn't do the step where you're supposed to straighten the yarn. It actually turned out pretty well. It's really soft and fluffy.
I only spent $5 at Walmart for the yarn, needles and thread. So if you're looking for a cheap tail, this would be for you. And it only used up not even a half a skein of yarn. So I can make even more with just that. It just takes a lot of time. This one took me about 6-7 hours of work, with the help of my girlfriend.

Beautiful tail! I really love the colors!
Most people suggest not using redheart because it's not as soft and it's more frizzy, although I personally think it can make a more realistic tail than a lot of the other brands. I stopped using it because it took much time to brush it out and it hurt my hand xD
