This is our new dog (Roder's dog) Dixie is a 9yr old Alaskan Husky and has been a sled dog her whole life. She has run in the Iditarod twice and has had 3 litters of sled dog pups. We adopted her from a working sled dog rescue near us in the mountains. These dogs are specifically bred for cold and speed not for AKC and are used more in sledding worldwide than siberians. An Alaskan can outrun a Siberian any day! She stil knows her sledding commands and we want to do ski-joring with her.
She's acclimated to couch potato like a champ. She loves to play fetch and hoard toys and eat some of them. She howls like a wolf and is an amazing dog. She and my dog don't get along too well but they tolerate each other. Before she came to us she has never seen a toy or played with dogs so its all new to her.

Yes the Alaskan Huskies are much different looking than your 'typical Siberian look' they are mostly bred with greyhounds or other fast dogs over generations of breeding. They usually have hound, husky, mal somewhere in their genes. Some look more wolfish but some are really unique colors with half floppy ears. Most of her puppies had tall ears.
Our house is definitely canine-ified lol
