such a "lovely" prospect to HIKE over 10 miles to get to a campsite.. I'd looking at them and saying ( as I get back in the truck)..ok smart asses... I'll go find the ROAD that goes up to within a more REASONABLE distance to the site.. otherwise I'll see you birds at the freaking Holiday Inn a few miles back!

( people like that who THINK that something that far away is a 'reasonable" distance are just freaking STUPID... a mile or two... ok...THAT I can take ..but in an emergency, being " deliberately, on foot, over 10 miles away" from help of any kind, is positively being so horridly foolish..

but then again.. this world has a whole bunch of fools

but its only 10km thats only like 4.5 miles, and it is camping. that is kinda the point :P

I would still consider a mile or less to be *REASONABLE* distance VS. something like 5 or so miles.. that, to me, just seems horridly foolish if an emergency happens... (yes I'm paranoid.. can't help it.. I'm a silly fur who likes the idea of trying to be prepared VS the insane "roughing it" bit where you leave everything behind trying to cut your ties and go "back to nature"...

My idea of "roughing it" is an unheated swimming pool at the motel.

All you need is knowledge, and maybe a knife. But they sure aren't roughing it, cause of the stuff they are carrying.
