Well, there's the ubiquitous import fanatics...

I can't deny that I would love to have a BMW M3, but Pontiac has had the market on sheer automotive badassery cornered since 1964.

FIrst entry-level, performance-oriented sedan, first consumer OHC6... ^v^;

First release year of the GTO, my friend. THe first true budget-minded performance vehicle, and ironically enough, the brainchild of one John DeLorean.

Well, I found myself a 1965 Tempest for just shy of $2,000 USD about two years ago. Sold my Mustang to buy it and haven't had any regrets since.

No kidding. I JUST rebuilt the engine last year, and it's going on 350,000 miles right now with nothing but a new set of rings and bearings, regular oil changes, et-cetera.

Big 5.4-liter V8 with a custom transmission that could pull a boat but still get almost 28MPG. It's very nice. ^^
I'll have to post a picture of it some time... It's not a true 1965 GTO, but it's the exact same body style with a slightly different trim package and different seats.
