Chibi-Marrow was kind enough, and I was lucky enough, to do a commission for me. Here we have Trist working on his favorite hobby: Bonsai.
He's trimming a Trident Maple, in early Fall foliage, on the Bamboo work taple. A watering can is to the left while his roll of tools is to the right. Behind him, between his head and tail, is a Boxwood. The third tree on the self is a Myrtle.
The wall, which was excellently done, was an idea I got from numerous pictures I've seen. Some of the best Bonsai displays I've seen were on rock walls.
The apron was Chibi's idea. I had actually forgotten to mention I wanted Tristan in an apron, but when I got the sketch, boom, Chibi had Tristan in an apron. What a smart fellow ^_^ The shirt was my idea though and Chibi brought it to life.
So enjoy, fav, and leave comments. This is a hobby of mine in real life, so I'd be interested to read or discuss any comments or questions.

I spent the past two years just learning how to keep them alive. I've read my Bonsai books numerous times over and spent hours reading opinions/comments/articles/guides/and care sheets online. Honestly, anyone can take care of a Bonsai if they follow a few guidelines. But if looking after plants isn't your strong point, as you said, Ficus Bonsai are super easy to care for. The only way to kill them is to actually try to kill them. Wal-Fart usually has them for sale at about $10 each.
The Bonsai forum I belong to has a lot of members from the UK http://forums.bonsaisite.com/ Take a look through there when you have the time, it might offer some help. Or at the very least, give you some pointers.
