It happened one morning. Muse was singing a slow tone as a winter chill blew by and off the lake. Only a few of us were awake. Marco was making sure the sails were tied up on her ship making sure that everything was going to be okay for the rest of the winter. Cynthia and Jessi were fully bundled up in blankets and heavier attire. We weren't conversing so much as we were admiring the rising sun and the light drifting along the trees. Jessi broke the silence saying how it reminded her of the last day she spent with her family. Cynthia and I were quiet and let her continue. She wasn't even of age at the time but her family was marrying her off to get their business connected. They didn't give much to her feelings since they were sinking and becoming financially unstable. They had lost hope in Jared doing anything since he was too much of a free spirit. No matter what they didn't, they couldn't control him. With Jessi being raised so proper, she was never going to defy them. Even with all that was happening, the marriage date drawing ever closer, Jared noticed his sister's heart breaking more and more. He loved his sister and she was the only one that didn't look down on him. She's even admitted her jealousy of him several times. On the eve of the wedding The snow started to fall and Jared was no where to be seen. Jessi was on the verge of shattering since her only support, the only one who wouldn't approve of the marriage wasn't there. The aisle called and their father stood there ready to take her arm to take her to her husband-to-be. That's when it happened. jared run by and gave a good sock to their father knocking him unsteady and quickly dragged Jessi away. No one was able to catch up to them thanks to him stealing a car to make their escape. It was quite the story. They were still on the run. It had been over a year since they were without a place to stay. I gave a nod understanding their situation. I lived out in the middle of nowhere, more or less, They wouldn't be found here and in knowing that, I welcomed her home. I didn't look but I heard a sniffle of her crying from joy.
FLYING BY THE SEAT OF MY PAAAAANTS... seriously. I wasn't sure where I was going with this. I wonder how well that's reflected XP
