Endless Realms player race - Al'miren (Order)
Player race artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for.
While the Al'miren are a female-only race, they come in two different breeds: Order and Chaos, reflecting the dual goddesses they worship.

Wow, thanks! I'm glad you think so!
They just really, really wanted this to be the flagship race (she's even in the company logo) - the development team I think may be a fan of anime, too, so that probably was a big influence :b Plus I think they wanted to try to make the game more female-friendly/appealing to females compared to other games like D&D and Pathfinder.

XD Well, I'm a big advocate for more exotic races, more true "original species" rather than just "humans with a few different parts", but the development team was afraid of getting too alien/furry/exotic and seeming inaccessible and unapproachable. Hopefully, though, that means the race will be a decent balance of a few exotic races with a few tamer ones.
Sounds awesome already! There's definitely a need for more exotics though. Too many of what you described. Human with a few changes like a cotton tail and three eyes.
But unless you can somehow create a large city or race with some of your characters as good guys, I can only see a lot of your guys as bad guys, unfortunately. Save for a couple. But the furry the better! Not many good furry games out.
If endless realms is what I think it is, it was pretty cool! It's a free to play on the PlayStation i think. But it was when it was first out and it was, uhh.. in need of updates, to say the least. I'm not sure how it is now though. I'm sure fantastic!

There are a good deal of "furry" races in Endless Realms. There are 9 core player races:
1 is straight-up human.
1 is mostly human, but is a demon-type race with horns
1 is borderline "furry" (bunny-girl race, this one I just posted)
4 are straight-up "furry" (mole-type race, weasel-type race (Skidi, posted), wolf/bear-type race, lizard-type race (Silean, posted)), although the Sileans were intended to be fairly safe/approachable, while the other three are less humanoid
2 are moderately exotic/alien (Ventelli (tall, skinny, alien-looking) and Yakshi (plant race), both of which are posted now)
So the majority of the races are on the "furry" side :b

*chuckles* They're actually intended to be fairly attractive, almost succubus/incubus like (except without wings/tail), but yeah, are like 95% human in appearance.
Not sure what the most popular race will be :b I don't think they have have inherent stat bonuses like in DnD/Pathfinder, which was intended to let players feel completely free in choosing their race, rather than feeling forced into making the Dwarf Paladin or Elven Ranger because they're just better than other race/class combinations or whatever.

There's no alignment system in Endless Realms, but rather a vice/virtue system. Not sure entirely how it works, but players can pick vices/virtues as character traits for their characters, and what you pick determines how things respond to you, I guess, rather than a straight up "good/neutral/evil" sort of deal.
She looks like somebody from an 80's sci-fi/fantasy movie.
I have to say I like your designs better than theirs, but you did a good job with what you had to work with.
Also, what they said about "trying to make the game more female-friendly" is BS, don't they know that YOU're a woman and still a fan of the more exotic ones?

*chuckles* I think she looks directly out of an anime, but redrawn non-anime style :b Bunny girls are like the next most popular thing besides cat girls.
To be honest, most of the designs are not "mine", persay. I've definitely had a direct hand in making them what they are, but I don't get free reign with them in any sense of the word. I add some personal touches, and take anime references they give me and things like that and redraw them in a more realistic manner. I give suggestions and advice and my perspective as an artist who's worked in fantasy/wildlife/furry art for almost ten years - "This is too generic" "You think this is really out-there and crazy, but it's not" "If you have this design goal in mind, this is a good/bad approach."
But yeah, this race is basically the most beloved race of more than half the development team, loved so much they made it their logo, so there's no changing or getting rid of it :b
To be fair... You wouldn't necessarily know this, but I'm not a very good example of femininity :b I have female aspects, obviously - I love animals, I like cute/fun things - but the amount of "female things" I like is extremely limited. I don't like makeup, I don't like shopping, I hate shoes, I hate fashion, I hate feminism (not the principle, but what it's become), I tend to loathe "chick flicks", I simply can't do "female-style socializing", and I don't believe in listening to my emotions by default :V

I agree that acting "female" isn't great, and acting "male" is no better. If you fit perfectly in any gender stereotype, you need to seriously reconsider your life choices.
And I'm still not a huge fan of this race; I'm sure you could make it much better if you had free reign. But hey, bosses are bosses, after all.

*nods* I wasn't just talking about stereotypes, really, though. I just tend not to get on well with average women. Not that we hate each other or anything; we just clearly work totally differently, have completely different interests and ways of looking at the world.
Yeah, it's my least favourite race as well, but there you have it!

LMAO I'm sorry I don't mean this in an offensive way but in a comedic way lol
I just imagine it like a Buffet they run around and pic what the want on their child and take
it to the Goddess like "Alright cook me up a kid."
But seriously I would be interested in finding out. One gender races always intrigued me :>
