Hey buddy! nice to know ya got ze awesome wacom now!
as in for shading, use a different layer on top and set it in multiply, then use a gray color for shading, it's gonna be easy to practice since you will be able to shade on it without compromising the drawing itself.
by the way... the paws are reverse, thumbs should be pointing out.
