Anything I've ever done or come up with, be it design, aesthetic, story, the way the story is told, etc - it could be traced back to any combination of these fantastic things. If any of you like my work, you'd probably like any of these as well, so maybe I can help some people find some cool new things!
Berserk, with it's amazing characters and feels (notably great music, too, for the animated version anyway - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkYYYew8CUI ) Contrary to what the internet thinks, it's not really a story about "being manly" (come on people), it's a great tale about the human spirit and emotions.
BLAME!, one of the coolest comics I've ever read. Hardly any words, and the visuals are outstanding. Maybe once day it'll get a proper animated adaptation, or a free-roam game...
The Dishwasher Series, probably the "oldest" of all of these that really stuck with me in the way that I was exposed to this earliest. Pretty much everything in the game is an inspiration in some way (and that music - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL51sGW6Cvc )
Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, with BLAME!-style storytelling in extremely atmospheric places.
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, having probably the strangest, most foreign and thus magically immersive environment. What a deliciously bleak place the Zone is, even more-so with the MISERY mod.
NEOTOKYO°, for it's incredible OST ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM6.....M6eZJRurFk#t=2 ) and visual style.
I think it's especially evident in OSSUARY, where you can see all of the above at work.

I think I had seen a wallpaper about "Blame" many years ago as a kid and I kept wondering where the hell that came from...
Maybe it was still from something entirely different but I remember it had the words: "Blame, and so on"
Plus it had a guy dressing some kind of... suit? and facing backwards like the one dude you drew... Could be a coincidence? Who knows...

Fantastic choices all round Lethal, although admittedly can't say I've ever heard of The Dishwasher Series, guess I'll to check that out.
Kinda surprised theres no Armored Core (which has very similar story delivery to Dark Souls when you think about it) or Front Mission on there.
Oh god, Berserk. Started watching it when I was like 15 and renting it on VHS from a comic book store, only got a few episodes in cause they didn't have the rest. Finally watched the whole series when I was in Afghanistan. Final episode was just too damn depressing. Wish I never watched it.
Oh man, that's no place to watch that ending in (is there ever a right place for the Eclipse?) haha. As someone who read the comics first and only watched the series like a weekend ago, I couldn't help but feel that it has a super depressing ending with no closure. You don't get to see what happens after, and the series as a stand-alone just kind of builds up all these characters and then, well, you know.
Ya know, I may as well do something like this, but my artistic skills are not that impressive.
I have to thank you that we met on this site, cause I like what you create, and I'm still on the prewriting stage on your Ossuary-verse.
I may have not been on Blame! but Biomega is a start...
Also, what two universe's of media would you combine?

Thank you so much!
I started with Biomega as well, then read BLAME! after. They're not actually really related though, so there's no order to do it in.
As for the question about the two universes, probably Souls and BLAME!; that's what most closely represents Ossuary out of all of these I think.

Well, it was ported though a hack to PC from a russian coder - it doesn't work so well on some machines, and shortly after that incident James said they had a port in the works, and it was coming "sometime." Microsoft basically saw that there was enough interest in it and that they could make some money from it, so they probably are pushing for it. I wouldn't expect it to come out before their newest project though - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1Yq89OhxfA
