There's actually a bizarre amount of craft put into Michael Bay movies, particularly the ones he cares about (he's gone on the record many times saying that he doesn't care in the slightest for Transformers (it shows) and it just doing it for the obscene amounts of money they earn him). I don't necessarily mean that in a good way, but he's worked himself into this little corner of "toss it all at the screen with as much gloss as possible and see what sticks. Then toss that stuff back at the screen anyway". It's a remarkable amount of dedication put towards being incoherent, and doing it in a style that is wholly his own. In fact, I do have to give Bay credit there, because even his awful movies are totally and uniquely his. Which at least makes them more special than the dozens upon dozens of other bland, nameless summer blockbusters I've seen of equal (or lesser) quality. One could certainly never slap the Journeyman label on Bay (there's a genuine argument to be made that he's a real Auteur. Again, not exactly with the best meaning, but the argument remains).

All that said, Pain and Gain is a remarkably decent, funny movie. Even if it was still a half hour too long.

MB ruined TMNT for me it was the worest movie I seen in a long time. lucky I downloaded it at no cost it was not even worth a 1.25 to rent from a redbox but then again its hard to ever match the first TMNT movie

Stuff like this is why I'm more of a gamer than anything these days (that and I was basically raised by Nintendo).

I think the last movie I actually saw in theaters was the first of the Hobbit ones back when it was new so... yeah, about two years now.

The only movie he's recently made that I liked(Man that sounds weird) is Pain and Gain. Maybe because it's based on a true story so he couldn't give it his usual explosion-bukkae

Um, yeah... about Michael Bay not being able to give true stories his usual explosion-bukkake... two words: Pearl Harbor.

And he fictionalized so much of Pearl Harbor as to dishonor the shit out of everyone actually involved in the attack (for instance, the Japanese NEVER ATTACKED THE HOSPITALS), and the Doolittle raid (where IRL we did so little damage that the Japanese called it the "Do nothing" raid.)

I'll admit the first transformers movie was ok but the rest have gone down hill from there but the new TMNT movie?

I liked how The Nostalgia Critic put it: "If you saw and enjoyed the last Transformers movie, you're probably a young guy. And I won't even blame you because quite frankly: Michael Bay has your dick. It's his now. He put all these tits ass and explosions specifically to get to your dick."

I agree, Michael Bay is ruining a lot of things. I didn't mind the Turtles, because, well, I'm not one of THOSE fans. They didn't mangle their personalities, like they did with Transformers. I mean, Optimus is NOT supposed to be some oilhungry psychopath. He's the one who would rather find an alternative, for Primus' sake!
