And now to round off the whole backstory spewing, here's Melt the Sentret!
Melt was an absolute accident that Crash and Burn would have preferred never came into their lives, but they aren't unhappy because of him.
The duo are thieves that are notorious for burning down the houses of those they rob, but there's one thing they can agree on; hurting or killing anyone is out of the question. They take what they need, burn the evidence and get out. Making sure no one is home is vital to their plan. Unfortunately, they made a mistake one day.
Before hitting a place, doing your research is vital. You can't blindly rush into a place to rob it, it just doesn't work like that. For this house, Crash and Burn learned that there was a family of four humans, and none owned a Pokemon. They found when the usual times they were out are and where all the entrances are, including what area had the best chance of being unlocked at any given time. Finally satisfied that they had the place down, they made their plans to rob it.
Everything was going according to plan, and they began lighting the place up. Crash then made a final stop at the attic, a place they didn't notice until they were about to leave. The flames spread quickly, entering the attic and surrounding the area. After throwing their loot outside, Burn returned to help her brother search the for any hidden treasures in the attic in the few minutes they had left before the place hit the ground. The place had already begun to break down, wood hitting the attic floor in large chunks. Not soon after they realised they made a mistake in their house study. Two wild Furret made their home in the attic, coming in and out from a hole in the wall. Beams had already fallen on them, burn marks on their bodies. Distraught, but realising there wasn't anything they could do for the two, they were about to leave when Crash heard tiny squeals from under the two. Under the two Furret was a baby Sentret. The two parents sheltered the baby, leaving the parents to take everything. Cursing his bad luck, Crash took the baby and with the help of Burn narrowly escaped the house.
The Sentret was young, not older than a week at most. Crash and Burn didn't know how long the Furret pair was there for, it's possible they were only there to have their baby and were out often foraging. Either way, it was their fault this baby was now an orphan. Neither of them was fit for child rearing, and their lifestyle certainly didn't have any room for a baby. They didn't exactly know where to dump a baby though, and most cities would be quick to throwing rocks the second they saw the two. In the end, they decided to keep the baby, if nothing else they owed the child for what they did and would see to it that nothing would happen to him.
Surprisingly, Crash took to the child the most, taking charge of the feedings and allowing him to sleep in between his scarf. He eventually came to be called Melt, a fitting if not morbid name in reference to how he came to be under their care.
Melt is still young, but he's grown up healthy and happy. Crash and Burn found that he sticks to his Sentret instincts and cries loudly when intruders or strangers are around, something very handy for two thieves who can't always be on the lookout. When he gets older, he'll certainly become a part of the team as a scout, but for now he gets to enjoy childhood with all the human food he can eat and two adoptive parents who give him lots of attention.

In the anime Pokemon are born being fairly intelligent and aware, but im my own canon, I have them grow in the same way as actual animals. So Melt was only about a week old, meaning he really couldn't comprehend what was going on. When you're a child, be it animal or human, you tend to stick to whoever takes care of you at a young age and see them as parents. As far as Melt knows, they're his parents and he hasn't had any others. Crash and Burn haven't really decided what they'll do when he gets old enough to realise they're completely different species and they couldn't possibly be his parents, they just decided to burn that bridge when they get to it.
Food, mostly. But there is a black market out there they sell/barter to at times. If there's something valuable that they can carry, they'll probably take it. Sometimes they take seemingly useless stuff, like Burn takes incense because she likes the smell. Crash sometimes takes fabrics and nicknacks to decorate his main home with. They occasionally take toys for Melt too.
