Don't get me wrong, I think the whole game's look is pretty choice. And if there actually is an Australian character, +20 pride right there as well. But out of respect I sort of forced myself to look away from the game because of reasons.
That's still the case now. I'm leaving this game untouched as a civil act, and the only reason I even uploaded this now is because I had been holding out. This, and the entire sketchbook it's in, was a gift for someone. It's no DaVinci sketchbook, (Hell, this picture was drawn with a bic pen, a salmon colored sharpie, a red sharpie, and a black sharpie.) but it was filled with things they liked.
I guess for a long time I figured there would be a time I could give it to them, but I don't know. All of a sudden it's hit me- there isn't any more time. There's no more chances, it's all over.
Not sure how I feel about that.
But I know I'm hungry, and I know I have to finish these commissions, and I know I need to give my mouse her meds and I know I want to be living in Savannah right the fuck now- so I'm not going to worry about how this makes me feel. Instead, I'm going to do what I need to do and focus on that.
So don't expect any other art for Evolve, at least not from me.

If you are planning on going to FWA I'll probably have a pile of sketches I'll just give away at the end of the weekend. (I normally just throw away my art in huge batches but I've had several people get mad at me and tell me I should give it away instead- so I'm considering that option.) It's not the game or company! It's just that the person I drew this for has made it pretty clear that if I express any interest in it or draw anything about it they'll lose their shit.
They said that after I had drawn this and the sketchbook for them, and so I was going to never post this but finally did. The gesture was kind of the shrug of the art world.

The only game I ever deliberately avoided out of any kind of sense of activism or anything was Dead Space 3, and that was only because one of the chief developers said something really insulting about gamers just prior to the game's release. I wouldn't like, flip my shit if I saw fan art of it or anything though, so I don't know what the sketchbook owner has against Evolve.

Essentially they claimed that they owned it and I'm not allowed to show any interest in it. Normally you'd think it would be silly for me to accept and abide by a request like that, but I can't handle the extra anxiety I would surely develop after they 'punished' me for getting into Evolve.
So I figure I'm not losing too much by avoiding that issue. I don't game at all anymore, I'm so swamped with commissions or other art projects anyway so it's not like I had much time to get into the game to begin with.
