My part of a little trade with Crunchy_Bat!
This tiny piece gave me so much hell.... I about gave up halfway through. x.x I used a new paper, "mixed media" it says... "Wet applications" the cover says..... Yeah well, after the first layer of watercolor, it did nothing but smear and lift the color I already put down. :| I finally had to give up, spray it with fixative, and finish the rest in colored pencil....which I haven't used in years, so, needless to say it was a challenge for me. Regardless, I think it came out okay. Some parts could be better but oh well. I tried.
Also, I imagine that with big leathery wings sticking out of your back, your clothing would have to have large holes cut in it....so I tried to illustrate that as well.
ANYWAY!!! Like I said this is my half of a little trade with Crunchy_Bat! Thanks for trading with me ^^ Check out his half (which is now my icon)!! :D

Traditional..? -Rubs eyes.-
This is traditional?
Hot damn, you're good. Especially with the story of the "mixed media" fiasco. I actually have a sketchbook that is "mixed media", and now i'm a little scared to try it. Then again, i'm no good at painting, so I guess I shouldn't worry much. Seriously, though.. This is beautiful. I really like the effect of the background. C:

Aww, thank you very much, you are too kind!! <3
Don't be afraid of the mixed media paper.... I just would not suggest it for pure watercolor ^^ I think it's more suited for a base wash, on which you can layer pencil, marker, etc. But any more than one layer of water-type media and you're in for some trouble, that's for sure x_x;

You're truly welcome.
I tend to prefer bristol board over much else, just because it's so thick and durable. Then again, all I've really skill for is coloured pencil for now, anyway. However, i'll keep the tip in mind if I ever decide to do anything fancy with it! C: Thank you. Keep up the amazing works. ^_^
