This sketch is almost 10 years old, but I figured since I'm moving forward with the Vinci & Arty sequel I might as well drag it over from my ancient Deviantart account onto here.
In the V&A verse, many anthro insect people have developed an almost mammalian appearance and don't always resemble their primitive cousins. That's the case with Thunder here; she's a millipede. Any person with more than two legs is called a sagittarian. Thunder here, formerly a race-taur, is now an engineer at Dolphin Technologies.

I'm surprised no one made any reference to a particular film most SANE people wouldn't watch. Yet, I do believe http://www.furaffinity.net/user/driprat/ made reference to it once .http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11574892/
So race-taurs have riders? I wonder how the dynamics of that work. Is there some element of control the rider has, or is the rider there for additional sports mixed with the racing, like taur-archery or taur-jousting (against dummy targets, I'd imagine), which incorporates an element of teamwork and division of labor?
Sagittarians have unfortunately been targets of discrimination for a long time (it's getting better, but still has a way to go). A lot of times they get pressured into becoming racers with the promise of fame and wealth, when in reality they're ridden and treated like racehorses and not as equals to their riders. Thunder here is retired from the racetracks after one of her frontmost legs was badly damaged.. to the point that even after healing her entire gait was thrown off and she was no longer useful to her rider & his agent.
Well, if I understand it right, if in Jack's universe, the furries were created by genetic engineering. Thus, something was created to promote. or unhinder, "hybridization". Given all the species, sub-species and hybrids found in that universe created by all these wonderful artists who've collaborated with Mr. Hopkins, I can see how this could be possible.
