There goes another round of playoff goodness. Thank you to all who joined the livestreams! And what a SURPRISE victory by both away teams!
(The commissioner is not going to be happy...)
So, here is the newest version of the bracket:
EASTON defeated BALTIMORE, 20-13, fueled by great field position and a Bald Eagles defense that forced Ponies QB Aspen Redfield to make mistakes. Baltimore's defense were unable to get anything going, and - as we all know - defense wins championships. The Bald Eagles will return to face the Fargo Axemen on January 25th. If Fargo wins that game, they will head to the FurBowl! If Easton wins, a second game will be held on February 1st.
NORTH FLORIDA defeated TEXAS 16-9; the lone touchdown was a QB Andrew Calder (Marten) interception, caught by S Quincy Doss (Dog) and returned for a touchdown. QB Kiedo Masquarde (Leopard) found WR Stan Wong (Tiger) open early, and Wong's 115 receiving yards off 9 catches was key to victory. The win sends Texas fans home disappointed, disgruntled, and generally - confused!
North Florida plays Downriver on Jan 25, and if Downriver wins that game, they will advance to the FurBowl! If North Florida wins, a second game will be held on February 1st.

FARGO and DOWNRIVER have "The Advantage", so if they lose next week, they get one more shot the following week, since EASTON and NORTH FLORIDA have already lost once and are one loss away from elimination.

Hope that Downriver can make it to the Fur Bowl. Have players in 2 other furry sports league (Shane in the FHL, Cindy Lutrai and Shadow Hallsworth in the FLB) Shane made it to the conference finals last season with Jacksonville of the FHL and Cindy made it the FLB semi-finals on the Hawaiian team. If the Waves make it to the final, Samantha Castora will be the first of my players to play in a Championship Game/Round. It will be tough game against North Florida. The upside with this playoff system is they will still have a chance even if they lose the next game.
