While I have zero control or responsiblity over what happens to the mail once it leaves my hands and enters the postal system, I still feel bad when something goes wrong. :( 
gabriel-fawkes Firefly card got lost in the mail, so I made up a second one. That was the only thing that didn't make it of all the stuff I sent out last year, so I guess that's not a horrible track record as the USPS goes.
