I figure if I'm going to put something on my body that will be there for the rest of my life, it should probably involve things that have been constant for my entire life to this point. Things I don't ever see changing in the future.

Cool, I would make it more stylized, less 'fuzzy'. Sure, include 'fur' but define it more.

I was going to defer to the tattoo artist for little details like that... I don't know a thing about inking on skin. It's important to me that it's furry, but I'm staying a little bit flexible, depending on what the expert thinks I should do.

I just mean the fade between the colour and the black. That seems like it would be difficult. Solid black lines and clear definition seems like it'd be easier.

Right, I understood what you meant. I have no idea what is and isn't possible on skin, but I've seen some pretty impressive inkings, and I hear the technology behind it is pretty good these days, depending where you go. I've never been tattooed before, but in a few months I intend to find out for sure.
