Here's my first writing attempt in quite a while. So Its not one of my traditional stories. A simple one off I don't plan on expanding. Let me know what you think, please.

The Incident
By: Lu-Man!
I suppose I shouldn't be writing all of this down. By all rights, I shouldn't be alive right now. My God, my hands are still shaking when I think of it. Of what happened. Its not everyday something like this happens and someone lives to tell about it. I guess I should quit stalling and start at the beginning.
It was new years eve. It was shaping up to be the best new years eve I've had in a long time. In my line of work, I tend to see a lot of partying. Champagne on ice, beautiful girls leaning out the sun roof of my limo, expensive vodka flowing like water, all while the city lights dance their beautiful dance over the dark tint of the windows and the glasses in everyone's hands.
No, I'm not the beautiful man sitting in the back. I'm the driver up front. I never drink. Haven't had a drink for 5 years, 11 months and 3 days. Those chilled glasses and the long fun nights come with longer not so fun days. After so long of waking up feeling like your head is stuck in a vice, having to do the drunk math to figure out where your paycheck went, and having to lie to your boss about why you're late for the third time in a week (as well as searching for new jobs) tends to make you think twice about that sort of life.
I owned the limo outright. It was my only one in operation, but not bad for a one man company. New Years Eve is one of my most busiest nights of the year. It was a great night too, three pick ups, then rented for the rest of the night into the morning thanks to a few rich college kids.
As I've stated before, I don't drink. Alcohol was involved in the accident, however. It was close to two in the morning. We where just outside of the city, traveling back to the college to drop the kids off. The kids where sitting and chatting quietly in the backseat. I saw the truck coming over the bend. There was nothing I could actually do. He drifted towards the edge of the road first, then drifted back towards the center.
“GET YOUR SEAT BEL...” was all I was able to get out before the impact. The sound of the vehicles colliding was the loudest thing I've ever heard. The world turned end over end. I could hear screams from my passengers. I must have been screaming too. In one image I saw the world tumbling end over end. Then next thing I saw, I was lying beside my limo.
I saw the carnage first. Glass and metal strewn across the street and into the trees. The limo was on its side. One headlight stared idiotically into the tops of the trees in the forest in front of us. I sat up and looked around. I expected to see blood and carnage. Instead I saw most of the kids I had picked up laying next to me on the roadside.
I saw him when he was pulling the last kid out of the car. She lay unconscious against his black furred shoulder. I could only see his pointy ears, I couldn't see his muzzle, not yet. But I did see his tail swaying slowly in the moon light. He climbed out of the side of the car with the girl on his shoulder, and gently laid her next to the others. He paused for just a moment in the light head light and turned to look back. Our eyes locked momentarily as he stared at me. He held up a single finger from his paw to his lips. Then he disappeared. It was the damnedest thing I've ever seen.
