Could not resist
Old recipe from family for donuts , not yest but with cottage cheese , they taste so good i ate 7 already , 2 on desk look wierdly at me , i think they know what i did with others...
We made about 60 and these are left after 3 hours:D
sogood
Recipe for these who asked:
1/2 kilogram of dry cottage cheese(fat preferred or half fat)
1 pack (10-15grams) of vanilla sugar or few drops of essence(we never used canes for that so i cant say how that would workout)
a bit more then 1/2 cup of suger(about 100-120ml of sugar)
4 eggs
about 84grams of UNSALTED butter (+-1/3 of 250gram butter bar)
4 spoons of vinegar(important)
1 flat spoon of soda(soda , not baking powder)
Flour? see below (if you really want general amount...start with about 3/4 of cup of same cup you used for sugar)
Add enough flour for it to have consistency of thick pudding or glue , reason for this all dry cottage cheese can be more dry or more wet and its hard for to make any measurements , you can keep adding more flour till you thick consistency is good
You can add more or less sugar depending what you will use them for , you can make less sugery so you can cut them in half and spread with jam or nuttela or "whatever else" , or similarly less sugar so you can sparkle them with powdered sugar
You mix everything in bowl preferred with hands! , work it up good to it have thick consistency of thick glue or pudding
spread it using rolling pin use cup to cut round pieces from dought , and use shot glass to cut hole in middle of each (you can fry these small pieces too , most often we use 1 or two to check oil temperature and add them back to dough mixed with left scraps from making and roll it again and make next batch)
you will need about 1 liter of fresh oil to fry it , you can use pan for that it don't have to swim in oil just enough to not touch bottom , be advised as you add them level of oil will rise!, preferred one is medium temperature one don't put it on highest setting on stove!
After your done don't throw oil away , pour it back into bottle using funnel , that oil can be reused safely couple of times and should stay fresh/usable for about year
Personally we mostly eat them raw , they taste so good they don't need powdered suger or jam in middle but if you do dont feel bad about it!
If you think cup may be "too small" dont worry , vinegar and soda will make them grow as yo fry them ,
