I remember that, thought it was odd that they decided to turn him into that of all things.

Actually he was going to be both. Originally they were going to have Primal and Megatron start in those forms, then become the gorilla and t-rex later on. Back then, cg was expensive and time consuming, so they had to cut that part out.

Time and money caused them to cut out a few things. The mutant heads were going to be used as battle masks. Wolfang was originally supposed to be in the series, but they ended up using Tigatron because they already made Cheetor. Rattrap was originally going to be an almost completely different character. He was going to be damaged in the crash, and have to be hooked up to the ship to live. That's why he's got that exposed brain. It was a leftover from the original design.

We need a beast wars movie

Dude I love beast wars! My best friend and I lived off of that show for some of the best years of our childhood. And I second the above, we really need a beast wars movie(done well).

Heh, I love Beast Wars. My hubby actually has all the toys for the characters in the show, including transmutate, tigerhawk, and ravage!! We also own the series on DVD.
