It's a sort of an Exquisite Corpse, a literary or artistic experiment where one party does a few lines (of a sketch or of text) and passes it onto the next player. The early pornographic animated cartoon Eveready Harton in Buried Treasure was done by this process, allegedly as a surprise for Winsor McCay's 60th birthday party.
