This is how Gustav Verbeek oft portrayed trees in his strip "The Upside-downs of Old Man Muffaroo and Little Lady Lovekins". The strip was VERY bizarre. It seemed to have 6 panels in each story, but after reading 6 panels, you had to turn the strip upside-down to read the rest of the story.
It was VERY strange and after little more than a year Verbeek moved on to a new strip "The Terror of the Tiny Tads".
