Dr. Copalanx doesn't look that mad o-o;

Now I'm seeing a Victorian theme. :o I kinda think about Howl's Moving Castle as a relative to the world they may inhabit. I know so little and I hope to learn more as you post more!

I wonder what the Doctors motives were in adopting young Ash.

To take care of a child with no parents. :o

Oh. That was nice of him. What with him being a mad Dr and all, I wasn't sure if he had any motives that would involve experiments and such.

Thanks a lot for the last response, GunMouth! ^^ Although I wished I would have commented on this first, because I think your inking is very well-done and it really makes everything look a lot more refined. Also, you do some fantastic work with expressions here. I don't really even know how to go into detail here, but both of the faces are just perfect and it's really the first thing that caught my eye.

I think another major strong point of this image is something I inferred from your last response: you put a lot of thought and details into the characters and their design. Just the idea that Ashley has to wear suspenders because of his shell makes real sense and I'm impressed that you considered that sort of thing when drawing the character. And Dr. Copalanx looks very cool too-I may not be as familiar with Victorian design and  TehSean but I think it's a neat look. Some nice little touches are the detail on the clothes, like where the strap of Ashley's suspenders pulls up on the shorts, and Dr. Copalanx's coat-belt type thing. Plus I think it's neat how the doctors handbag looks like it's weighted down with stuff and says just MED across the cross.

Finally, the rain effects are great too, especially the splash. It must have taken a lot of work to draw all those drops, but I really think it paid off.

I think it's great when there's a story behind the artwork and it does seem like you've developed quite a bit with these characters in only two images, so I'll really have to keep an eye out in case you do more with them. Well Faust WAS a doctor, so it is no surprise. The outfits are not the same, but similar, and Copalanx is his own kind of quirky-mad X3

I'm in love with the character designs here. Not sure how I managed to gloss over this awesome piece.
