I'd possibly wait til 3.0 where they are making some changes if you want to try bard. The one thing I do know they are doing is giving every class a unique limit break. Because bard is ranged physical,they can't do the close combat limit break. Currently the bard has the healer limit break. Though I do hear they're a great support-y dps class.
Awesome picture you got from iko though I would agree to wait until 3.0 comes out to do any switching of servers. They still have to release the Gold Saucer content and the rest of main story leading up to it and there are bound to be more surprises when they do. With thier current release schedule of patches we can possibly expect the expansion in the summer.
