"Oh, ho, ho
It's magic you know
Never believe, it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so"
"Never been awake
Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning
Lazy day in bed
Music in my head
Crazy music playing in the morning light"
"I love my sunny day
Dream of far away
Dreaming on my pillow in the morning
Never been awake
Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning light"
Sitting upon a shelf in The Street Corner bookstore, rests the most curious and cute little thing. Years previous, the evening cashier, Vivian, a friendly human girl with the most alluring azure eyes, came upon an adorable beanie baby at a garage sale. The fur of this cute little fox beanie baby with the most unusual markings along the arms was full dirty, perhaps from years of being exposed to the dark, dusty areas within an attic. One of the little arms were barely hanging on by a thread, and there were other tears along the seams.
It did not matter the condition of the Beanie Baby. It was love at first sight with Vivian. Lifting the tattered little toy carefully into the palms of her hands, she went to the owner, paid the quarter the toy was selling for, and took it home. After many hours of tender loving care with a steady hand, a needle and thread, and a warm, damp cloth, the Beanie Baby looked good as new. Layers of dirt had lifted under the gentle strokes of the damp cloth to reveal the snow white fur of the toy plus the rosy tints to its cheeks. Vivian was amazed and pleased with her new-found treasure that she decided to display it at her work.
Within a small glass case and seated high upon a shelf behind the cash register, the little fox Beanie Baby rested. Those who entered the Street Corner Bookstore asked about the toy, many even asking if it were for sale. Vivian, who worked full-time at the bookstore while attending college full-time also, said that the Beanie Baby was not for sale and that she found it at a garage store. It did not matter the cost. One person had offered her around $500 for it, as this Beanie Baby was extremely rare, one of a kind. Still, Vivian declined politely and with a smile.
It was Saturday night, and the sun had just set for the night within The City, and Vivian was closing shop for the evening so she could return to her one-bedroom apartment and study for an exam. After finishing the bookstore's closing routine, she turned off the lights, locked the door and pocketed the key. Her house was not too far from where she worked, and as she walked down the street towards her home, something remarkable happened within the store that no one knew about.
As the light of the moon shone in from the large windows at the front of the store and reflected off the glass of the display case, a whirl of moonlight dust circled around the Beanie Baby until it was absorbed within it. The beady little eyes seemed to shine in the moonlight and they...blinked. The arms and legs began to animate, arms apart as if stretching, and then the toy sat up within the glass display case. It's little paws rested upon the glass and then the toy stepped through onto the wooden shelf.
At night, when all the world fell asleep or were too busy to notice, the light of the moon caused the little toy to come alive. The rosy tint upon its cheeks remained, the tail with the single white tail wrap swished idly, and there was even a twinkle in its little eyes.
A little silver spark left the toy's right arm, sending straight over to the sound system of the bookstore. Soon, soft soothing instrumental music, both of piano, violin and even harp left the speakers throughout the bookstore. Always enjoying the sounds of music it could hear while stuck in the glass case and inanimate by day, now at night, the fox could truly enjoy those wonderful sounds which made it desire to...move. The fox began to twirl about upon the shelf, dancing in time to the rhythm and tempo of the song. Vivian is a human character that I haven't used in years. I don't have a picture for her either and I would love to get one sometime in the near future. She is of Italian-Greek descent. Her mother died during child birth and her father was a police officer who was forced to retire at an early age due to health issues. Vivian goes to school full time, works full time at the bookstore and she even has a part time job at a cafe working as a waitress.
A really good friend of mine and an rp brother had their fursona/character personalized as a Beanie Baby and I wanted to do the same. She turned out rather adorable as a child's toy and collector's item. I need to get another Beanie Baby artwork as Airlia has changed since I had this picture made back in 2009.
