Well, this was done in 2003...when I still had this silly "belief" of mine that one day I could make a living out of drawing stuff like this. 11 years later, I look at it with a mixed sense of well, a bit of pride, if you will, and regret. Because when life turns your so-called "dreams" into ash in your mouth, that's what you fell, I guess. It was done on those rather temperamental ink pens, like Rotring .01 and .04, on ordinary paper. I wish I still have it in me, to draw like that, but, alas, I do not. Try getting into "Art" school and get called a crappy artist, if you want to experience such a feeling. I don't recommend it for anyone who wishesw to maintain their sanity. But it happened to me, while all the so-called "true" artists were dumping garbage into a corner and making awful "discourses" about how their "art" represented the illness of society of some bullshit like that, I was ridiculed making, well, "shit" like this. That's when I snapped and quit art school, quit art altogether, because nowadays no-one seems interested in crafting drawings, specially not using "old-fashioned" tools like those temperamental pens(that kept on clogging) and paper. Nowadays it's all digital, or there's an "app" for that, if you will. But hey, that's just me, you know, a frustrated "artist" moaning about how empty it feels, to have your lifetime dream shattered, not only by those assholes in the so-called "art" school, but myself too. Because I'm too old, too busy, too broke to pursue a career on this sort of thing.
Well, sorry about the rant. But that's how I feel sometimes. Specially when I look back on pieces like this, 11 years later. And get this funny feeling on my chest.
