Was initially going to be a comic, but even one panel was too much for me so screw that v__v
Premise was Claw and this unnamed male raptor were dashing along through this ruined urban area, Claw shouting at the other to slow down, and the other raptor ended up tripping and then off-screen crashed through a bunch of debris (Among other things) before coming to a halt, completely unconscious. Claw walks up and asks if he's dead or not. (And yeah, Claw's got a crummy attitude like that. Even by a velociraptor's standards, she's kinda mean :B)
So. Why did I draw (Scribble) this.
I popped into Dino D-Day (very briefly) and set up an AI only game just to goof off, setting them all to Passive so they'd run around like idiots. I was going to play a game of Tag-The-Raptor 8D Try and catch the scampering raptors without harming them! x3
Though I was not amused in the slightest at the dev's choice of wording for picking the Allied side. I'm starting to remember why I stopped playing this e3e
Anyway, so jumped in finally and not even ten seconds after the game started it announced two of the AIs had committed suicide. Lolwut?
That lead to this image. I was baffled as to how they killed themselves so quickly, and my only two explanations were they ran into a wall and died, or the T.rex committed friendly-fire and ate them. (Though as I was drawing this I realized they probably just 'changed classes' for some reason, which the game announces as committing suicide)
Some other oddities. I was going to take some pictures and stuff, and this one raptor just ran right up to me then sat there running in place - literally running into me for a full minute but not going anywhere. For whatever stupid reason, the game wouldn't let me take any screenshots like it did before their big update. Great.
So I tab out of the game to see if Steam's settings were doing anything, then jumped back in. The raptor was flat on the ground snoozing like an idiot. :B
Later on I was following the rex around then shot it once. Instead of fighting back or eating me, it just turned around and stared at me for a bit... Before I just dropped dead for no reason. It wasn't even moving.
Yeah, if I could roll back to before their update, I would. I remember the Passive-AI game being fun to mess around with, no idea what happened here. Though, I do have to admit to hating the old Main Menu screen. All those poor dead dinos piled up ;___;
Also, seems the silly blurbs that pop up when exiting the game were removed? I didn't see them either time I exited... Was fun how they had Doom-like messaging with the characters begging you to stay with them. I liked the Dilophosaurus's message the best: "Will eat white furry creatures until you get back. May eat human too, we'll see."

It is fun yes, can even play offline with AI unlike Primal Carnage. Set them all to Dinomon (Passive) and watch them run around like idiots. Then go into T-rex mode and hunt them down and devour them >:3
Or just play Raptor Tag, try and catch the raptors :D
Or just practice ya know?
Unlike PC, if the servers are quiet, ya can still play it - even if no one else wants to. Plus, it's just fun. Sometimes the 'lore' kind of bugs me (I'm a very sensitive person ;n; ) but the game itself is fun.

Yeah... I'm just overly sensitive about things, violence and death and the killing of critters ('specially dinos and stuff) tends to press the wrong buttons with me, and I was able to overlook that with DDD for a while but eventually it began eating away at me and after a while just became too much. Fun game tho to be sure *nods*
There's three humans on the "Axis/evil" side, and the rest are dinosaurs. Two whose names I forget (They're herbivore quadrupeds, one has a chaingun on its back) and the others are the Dilophosaurus, Velociraptor, Compsognathus (Suicide bomber, which kinda disturbed me as well), Microraptor, and on two maps only one person can be a T-rex. Their devour animation is actually surprisingly well done, much better than Primal Carnage's by a large amount xD (That roar sounds kinda silly tho)
The Allied side gets just one dinosaur, named "Trigger" - he's IIRC a dino that 'defected' so to speak from the Axis side. Quadrupedal herbivore with a gun on his back hehe.
Because of how the game plays, he's likely to be the only dinosaur they'll ever get. At least in-game. (On their website they do have a 'lore document' where a guy's badgering Roosevelt about why we can't try taming our own dinosaurs to help us in the war and then live peacefully with us afterwards, so lore-wise it MIGHT happen, but in-game is terribly unlikely.)
Not sure if they're AI only or not (Never bothered to check) but there's two other dinos in their new "Last Stand" mode (Think Horde & Firefight from Gears and Halo). Some larger theropod with a SAM turret on its back, and the feathery Sinosaurpteryx. They're kinda cute.
Lore-wise, there's also a torpedo-equipped Mosasaur, and they've mentioned Utahraptors as well. While you can't play as them so to speak, one of the Axis humans gets to call down pterosaurs to use in suicide attacks. Again, kinda disturbing but also fun to watch human players freak out when they can't see the attack coming ;P
Raptor-Tag is kinda fun, but the only real way to tag 'em is to smack them with your fists, which turns them hostile afterwards x'D
Tis also fun to spawn as the T-rex then try and eat as many people as you can before being KO'ed. Any difficulty works for this, but the AI doesn't seem too keen on running away when they're able to fire their weapons (Any difficulty other than "Dinomon")

http://sta.sh/027m2twuv1as here's a pic showing all the Axis classes you can pick from.
Oh right, and the raptors can pounce on people :D
Right-click when in mid jump and they'll leap onto them and get all bite'y and claw'y on them. It's an instant kill no matter what, but it takes a second for them to start biting - so yer buddies have time to shoot them off (And I've sniped a raptor off a person that had gotten pounced before. It's happened to Claw once before too, and she was terribly pissed off about it xD)

I WOULD HAVE sent this earlier, but Steam apparently didn't keep my screenshots on its Cloud device (I did uninstall the game once before tho) and so I had to go to my old "takes ten minutes to start up" laptop to retrieve them.... >_>
I also have to say I reeaaaally did not like their original Main Menu background (So many dead dinosaurs piled up ;n; ), while they did change that in their update, they also removed the 'blurbs' when you exit the game. Many of the characters will try and convince you to stick with them, with the dinosaurs generally having the most humorous lines. One of the Dilophosaurus's two lines was "Will eat white furry animals until you get back (Goats). May eat human too, we'll see." xD

From my experience, this game's less 'resource demanding' than Primal Carnage. It's not as graphically "pretty" and vibrant, but seems to be easier to run.
I've played the 'compy' once and only once. After I had it explode (And a bit prematurely at that) I was like" Nop, not using this guy again". It's not a gory explosion certainly not, but it hurt for me to see xD
spikeheila's super-good with the micro (It spits poison at people :D), and I've only ever done well with the velo. Never did get to pounce on anyone but whatever x)
Also never got the chance to play as the rex. Such sads :P
But yeah, while I might gripe about the "evil" dinosaurs thing and the other lore things at times, I do have a lot of great things to say about the game itself. Spike would say a lot of good things too I'm sure if ye ask her or want to know more x)

Ah, think I should clarify this real quick - "Raptor Tag" isn't an actual game-mode, it's a game a few friends and I invented when we were playing on our own and weren't keen on shooting dinosaurs, played with 'house rules' so to speak :> (No shooting, no attacking except for "tagging" the raptors...)
^^
Would be fun to see some "less traditional" game modes like that for real though. I think the closest they have is a Territories style game mode.
Halo had some truly amazing game modes that weren't what you'd really expect in a FPS (Race, Oddball, CHESS...)
Then going into its Forge / Custom Games people made golf, hockey, whack-a-mole, and more.
It'd be cool to see some wacky game modes like that in DDD. Not many first-person shooters really seem willing to try and be different like that. =/

Mhmm, the only thing keeping me from playing it more often is my own sensitive nature to certain things. Really sounds dumb when I say it out loud though xD
Still, I do enjoy writing about it (Though my assorted 'fan' writings tend to be of a more whimsical nature) and I really fell in love with my two OC's I developed during the somewhat brief time playing. Not sure if I have my earlier - and unfinished - drawings still, but Claw and Dilo ended up becoming full fledged characters of mine I liked them so much x)
I think the second drawing I did was of the two comparing their "game hours", which was the first hint towards the idea that Claw doesn't really like playing D-Day like Dilo does (She does like it, she just doesn't like the "morons" she has to play with) so she had a low game-time compared to Dilo's. Spikeheila had something around 800 hours clocked into it at that time, and that was mooonths ago. Pretty sure she plays it every day or something :B
....
Mm dug 'em up, still had them on DA even though I removed them off FA (Well, off my alternate account anyway)

Oh right, and this which I did. My two characters 'lecturing' me on my being too sensitive about something that's "just a game" :B
As well as the first image I did since creating Claw. Someone trying to make her look 'cute' ;P
(I also got some commissions of these two as well mrehehe)
Erm... Sorry for that ramble ;ovo

Yah, should talk to
spikeheila then, she's a tester AFAIK and has like, a thousand plus hours on it. From my time playing with her - and time playing alone with AI - it does have that replay value to it and an unexplainable fun'ness that makes you want to come back and play more. Also it has dinosaurs.
Hehe yeah Claw's a piece of work alright xP
All the velos are kinda grumpy (Comes from being a carnivore AND being raised to be a weapon) but Claw's mean even for a raptor xP
BUT! She is pretty nice when around her (only) friend, but she's a jerk to pretty much everyone else
