As the light faded so did my ability to take proper pictures with my now old camera. This was the last decent picture I got last night and even it kinda sucks.

Nothing sleeper about it. oO Unless you're deaf enough to not hear the sound coming out of the tail pipes and don't know what GTO means on a Pontiac (aka redressed Holden Monaro, not that that's necessarily a bad thing).
That said, style wise it's still a subtle, handsome car. But I wouldn't go so far as to say sleeper.

This final GTO's burble was delicious, but indeed if you either had the windows up, saw this car from a distance or didn't know what to listen for (a very common event these days), you won't know what this car really was. And because it *is* a Holden, and because its styling *is* so subdued and conservative, and esp. because it was a big old 2+2 and not something so blatantly speed oriented as say a Vette, it certainly qualifies as a sleeper. Most Americans would not have known what Holden was anyways when this thing first came out. I suspect the G8 educated them a bit more.
And I remember too well how all the baby boomers screamed bloody murder (esp. the twats who ran the magazines) because this final GOaT was not a total styling tribute to a '71 Judge, so they couldn't claim it as their new midlife-crisis Viagramobile.
I was going to issue a final reminder about badge engineering, and I want to remember that GM/Pontiac put those three capitol letters on underserving models after the Pony Car era had died, but I might be mistaken about fake GOaTs. I know other maqrues did it, but I can't firmly recall on *this* issue.
