Perhaps~ I find it's sort of a black hole of detail. Like, either you do it really undetailed or you draw full detail, somewhere inbetween tends to look weird. If you could see the ref for this picture, there's a considerable amount of detail I had to scale back on simply because it would of taken me absolutely ages to do it all, and not sure I would have the ability to do every little bit of it too.
Well I do that too anytime I draw one of my Warcraft characters, as they also usually rock some pretty elaborate armor as well.
I mean as long as we get the absolute necessary details that distinguish the piece of gear, then usually the drawing turns out great.
The minute details are at your discretion if you want some extra flair or not, as the subject is more focused on the gal than the armor itself. :3
Unless you mean the armor has some crazy specific paint job or engravings, then yeah okay we should just get the general shape out at least, lol.
Either way, we got some shark butts, so everybody wins! Except for the people that lose, of course.

Personally, I tend to lean on the side of more anthropomorphic features rather than less, but I can vary depending on mood. Hence Fyxe's magically growing and shrinking muzzle depending on how I feel like drawing her at a given moment~
