I'm not really sure how this classes as poetry, he he, but either way, here's what I think regarding what you said.
I think there's definitely a lot of goodness in the world. Unfortunately, all the news want to tell us is the bad stuff, because it's got that shock factor to it. People become more excited by reading stories about the bad things than they do about good things, because they have that question of 'how will it get better?' and keep people thinking, instead of 'it's already been made better?' and not have the mystery.
When whoever's doing that goodness is a large group of people, however, who club together and show their drive to make a change, that change does happen and the happiness does spread. A great example would be after a series of riots broke out in London a few years ago, when a collective group of people clubbed together to clean up the mess and keep business going.
As further proof of this, have you ever noticed how negative news stories tend to focus on individuals whilst positive news stories tend to focus on groups of people?
As for your comments of how everyone is unique, I'd say it's actually our diversity that brings us together. The world is full of very diverse, idiosyncratic people and if everyone in the world was identical, you'd have to ask yourself exactly how we'd make the world better. We'd all look at the world around us and just shrug our shoulders asking what to do next. But because we're all different, we can learn about what other people think about and how we all see the world, and it's our knowledge that allows us to make the world a better place for the future
Boy, I'm getting philosophical here...
