A piece of concept art for an upcoming fanfic that a friend and I are writing, called The Depths of an Outsider's Heart. The premise is that this time in TLKII, Nuka has a girlfriend named Mila, and during the ambush, she's able to save him from dying and help him see just how wrong Zira's ways are. She also helps prove to him that his mother's attention isn't worth it if nearly dying is what he has to do to get it. Long story short, Nuka and Mila settle down in the Pride Lands as Kovu and Kiara become leaders, and they end up having four cubs together. The title is inspired by the lyrics to Across the Universe by the Beatles, which is such a perfect song to go with this drawing in my opinion.
