A baby's / foal's love is a love in which is unbreakable. Perhaps Chrysalis has figured this out and is using regression magic to build her a boundless source of love in which to feed her powers?

This poses another concept for a tale where Chrysalis has her Changelings steal newborn foals from hospitals while taking their place. The Changeling growing up with the family while the real foal grows up with Chrysalis and loves her to no end and helps her build her power. Then a day would come where the Changelings would reveal themselves as Chrysalis marches back into Equestria with an army of Ponies she raised whose love for her is undying. Celestia, Twilight, Cadence, and Luna would be in real trouble than since breaking the love for Chrysalis would be next to impossible to break. In the meantime the Changelings who infiltrated the Pony families would already be in key positions where they can act and make the takeover almost impossible to stop.
