So this morning I happened to finish washing my truck... upon picking up the heap of towels I used to dry and detail it, I noticed a swift lizard lounging on a decorative rock. Naturally and instinctively I feel must catch this lizard. In attempts to catch the lizard it wonders into the wood chipping near the elephant ear bush. I go to sift through the wood chip to then find this little guy. A salamander! (AKA Garden Slender Salamander)

These guys are rare to find in SoCal, so finding one is always a treat. So naturally in itself, I took pics of this second choice find. <^_^>

I hydrated it pretty well and eventually put it back.

Oh, and get this.... while putting it back, I accidentally found the swift lizard. It sorta just ran up my arm. XD

After petting it a few times, I eventually let it go as well. The thing about swift lizards is that they run away when you try to catch them, but then are very calm once you have them in the palm of your hand. It is difficult to make them get off your hand in this situation, so sometimes you have to give them a gentle nudge.
