Yeah, I was going to ask: Do you smug your color? I'm not an traditional artist so I wouldn't know, but you see some people color with pencil and it has that 'texture' that screams 'colored pencil'. Yours looks all smooth, but you can still see it wasn't done digitally.

Hmm.. well, I dont exactly smudge it, no... (though I do use smudge shading with graphite only, something I haven't done in a while, been doing a lot more color pieces) The way I got smooth texture on this was to first lay down a layer of marker - basically the medium tone I wanted to achieve... and shaded with very sharp Prismacolor colored pencils the lights, and the darks.. And to lessen the grainy 'crayon' look, I go over the shaded part with a lighter pencil to burnish it a bit, and fill in the spots where the paper grain made the color spotty. The smoother the paper, the better for smooth color, as well. I use smooth bristol or cold press illustration board.

Moldred is the fellow who commissioned the piece - the character belongs to him... I just noticed that the copyright symbol has been translated here as a question mark =... thats not right...
