Imagine life the way you've always known it. You have your good days, and your bad. There are simple days, full of relaxation and happiness; and there are the days so difficult and complicated, you feel like you just might die. You have your day-to-day problems, pleasures, and random life occurrences.
Then one day, you look up into the sky... and what you see shatters your world completely...
This was a concept image for a video game that never happened.
It STILL might happen... but not for a while...
PS-- This image is pretty old.. just so you know...

The world's largest Swiss Army Knife!! OMFG, they sure outdid themselves this time!
No. I love this, very well drawn and constructed. And yes, the advent of an alien ship would cause the entire world to shit bricks simultaneously. Me, I'd be loading my pistol. Just in case they do become hostile. Still, I'd be excited! ^^ *nervous exuberance*

probably not as much the bird things as much as the space ship and the entire scene heh.
the bird creatures (are like most wildlife in the game) the person and the tribalish city (are like the pre-civilization tribes) and most of all the space-ship, since 98% of the game is spent flying around the galaxy (which statistically would take 80 years of constant play to see every damn planet)
im lovin the crap outta it. go buy! go buy!
then you can see redics chubby bird people

The art on this is incredible.
It's also an outside context problem - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outsid.....xt_problem#OCP

My reaction would probably be along these lines:
Blink several times, watch the thing for a minute or two, then depending on what happens, either 1) hide, 2) go to my home, warn people, get my stuff and hide, or 3) get closer to try and figure out what, exactly, the hell it is.
Most likely 3). Curiousity usually takes precedence over self-preservation.

Indie video games... man... me and them go way back. It's good to see things like Braid, Aquaria, Cave story, and Charles Barkley: Shut up and Jam Gaiden, the Hoopz Barkley saga get press nowadays... but I hate how most indie devs (that aren't rabid fan remakers) resort to being LOLQUIRKYANDUNIQUE for the sake of hiding their lack of effort. It doesn't apply here... it's just something that's been bugging me recently.
Sweet drawing though... even if it is an oldie.

By the way... with XBL showing more and more support for the indie scene lately... now might be a good a time as ever to get your project going. I know three groups so far who had their games features in tons of mags/ blogs/ videos and shit, one of them having been found as a byproduct of the writers and editors of magazines sifting through the forums for another project? It might not seem like much... but getting the attention of industry leading professionals is always a good thing. Especially if they have nothing but praise (the biggest ones being what comes of the freedom allowed by not having corporate suits breathing down your neck as you work).
This is interesting, because originally I thought that the only problem with entertainment nowadays was the whole concept that "everything has been done already."
Now I am starting to see that it may be something else, such as the public's inclination to generalize everything they see. It is understandable, because the human brain likes to sort things into categories for simplification.

Whoa! Lookit all that detail work in there. And not only in the flying dealy in the sky, but in the background and foreground too. I see tiny little fiddly details that made me want to zoom in and see exactly what they were.
I've actually downloaded a non porn image and enjoyed it tremendously without having one bad thought. I hope you're happy with yourself. :)

reminds me of the song men, martians and machines.
From out of space we came on to the earth
From far away on solar beams
A dying race to find survival here
For our kind to plant our seeds
Our analysis of the atmosphere
Was good and so we touched the ground
A rising simple structured life form there
Seemed to be perfect what we'd found
We think in anger of our fallin dream
Our home is now a fading light
The cracks appeared and they where pointing at the end
And so we came to save our lives
Men, Martians and Machines
You were too young to understand our plans
To see the things up in the sky
We were the gods and we have tought you well
And so we fond eternal life
We gained control upon our destiny
Our ships were flying everywhere
The cracks appeared our plan was bound to fall again
And now the circle's closing in
Men, Martians and Machines
[ Solos: Both / Kai ]
We can't control our human sacrifice
Again we fear for our lives
The cracks appeared our brains start to distort again
Now we gonna say goodbye

As much as it would be cool to help, that's a flying city. If you were on it, it would just look like you were somewhere downtown in some city. If a car were to drive off the edge of it, you could barely see it from where we see it in this pic.
And anyway, I can't re-use this design for anything else but the project for which it was designed.
