Because Dark Souls is god damn awesome and has a great artstyle!

And this looks great. They have a nice design, I never noticed. I have to admit, I never really cared for a closer look on the gargoyles in DS2, because I was busy dodging their shit and cursing about the developers, who started thinking that more bosses of one type is a good way to create a challenge, that probably everybody will enjoy.
Love it none the less.

I actually went back to the place and had two succesful fights with them, for capturing better references for this picture. Textures and all the body plates, their spears- gotta admit, it's quite well crafted in the game. Overall, presentation of them ain't that cool as in previous game but the fight itself is more challenging and quite fun, especially for melee only. (not just "roll through first attack and stagger 2 win" in DkS1)

Both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls design and art choices I like better than ones in DkS2 though, and I've played all 3 games like a maniac.

It is awesome to see an artist is great as you doing Dark Souls art! I think your style gives DS's style a unique and awesome twist! I hope you do more with the bosses of the souls series. (Ornifex! Old Iron King! Capra and Taurus Demons from DS1!)

Cute! They really look this anthro in-game? Nice work! Pity there are no females.
Must say whoever carved them sure put a lot of work into decorating them... even their crotches.
