Into the Dark [Prize]
The long centuries of darkness had warped the ruins into something cruel and jagged. Where glittering spires of peerless crystal had once risen from the cavern floor like the fingers of a earthen god, now only towers of twisted malice stood. All around the cavern, the dark continued to seethe in corners and edges. Where her light did not touch, angles bent into unaccountable shapes outside the realm of possibility and colors blended into madness before dissolving away into a formless swath.
But the shining orb and the flickering power radiating from Suntalon annihilated the dark all around them, bringing sanity back from the suffocating embrace of the darkness. As the zisata paladin traveled further away from the light of the stars shining on the surface above, she was left only to wonder what could have befallen the creatures that built this once-beautiful place.
I won this piece from Sugarboy's monthly Patreon raffle and I love it. ^n.n^ It's my first piece of Eskannar-related art, of a zisata (half-drask/half-tivali, literally means "child of two worlds") paladin exploring ancient alien ruins. The armor is similar to that worn by Elaine in Guided By Starlight, but lacking the arming coat middle layer and cloak.
