Shot a few minutes ago with a Canon SX160 SI Camera.
I still say that thing eats batters like a hog.
This is at my max zoom level of 64x Not bad for an amature. Im proud.
This probably is the best I can do with out a telescope =/
The moon was out tonight so for the majority of the time spoting this comet was really hard as many stars were to dim to get any barrings to where I was shooting.
I narrow my field of veiw gradually starting with a wide angle shot and zoom in slowly, just pushing to the left right or up and down by a nudge each time I get back the picture.
I shot this with a 4 second exposure instead of 15 and got allot less start trail and spot on where I was shooting tonight.
This comet won't be around forever stargazers! So get out there and try to spot it. Tonight it was by Triangulum. You can google search for Lovejoy veiwings and get a pretty acurate chart of where it is. Have fun and enjoy the awesome pic!
