There are so many ways to arrange the stone islands at this spot. This curved arrangement of five stones is particularly nice the way they can be overlapped. Not done with this yet, need to tweak the temp on it to give a warmer feel, bring out the oranges and dampen the blue a bit.

This place is just nuts. Look at all the stones in the background there, nothing but, and reeds, and birds. Can't wait to see this place with a bit of mist and fog. Check back a few pictures, I've only just started posting from this area which is going to be very fertile!
Aaaaah! Know what? Just this eve I noticed that I'd had the ISO (which I very rarely change) up a bit to get enough light to make this picture easier. As is, you can see I still had a lot of trouble and a fairly unsatisfactory result (but there you go).
My fatigue level is fairly high, made bearable by my nice and legal prescription for amphetamines. Just checked, 15'th I was on site before sunup for that moon reflecting in water picture, long session that morning, went home, offloaded pics, went to town and took care of a multitude of thingies (made a sale!), took Gracie to the cliffs as it's on the way home (good session there), went home, took care of life, worked editing pictures all night, went out on the 16'th, first pic says 7:20 am, this is shot #771 and was taken at 9:30 am. Soooo, by the time I got to this I was probably thinking "Please god, don't give me anymore cool and pretty things to photograph. I really just wanna go home, eat and crash!"
I've got much better color correction for Lightroom now, compensation for it's guesswork at reading Nikon raw files. Run ragged though, need to do lots of post and almost hope for overcast mornings, but I'm still going to get while the getting's good at every opportunity. Increases your chances for that killer shot of geese or other birds, almost had one tonight but unfortunately I was all set up for macro. Oh for a combo lens that would encompass the range of mine! Me bud has an awesome lens, range of something like 24mm-210

I got it now Thanks for the explanation.
Also, it sucks when you are all set for a kind of photo and then the situation changes... I know how frustrating it is... But I would prefer to carry 3 lens instead of one with long range... just for better quality... Personal choice ya know...
Plans for the future:
All Canon:
EF 16-35mm f2.8L USM (near future)
EF 24-70mm f2.8L USM (far future)
EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM (far far far far far far future )
