I use a fork. My kids get a laugh out of it but I am the only one without milk all over the place or cookie crumbs sitting at the bottom. :)

That was my old style. The trick was to either separate the two cookies with the the frosting on only one side, or if you were really good, have the frosting loose and intact by itself.

I usually twist them apart and dunk each half. If I REALLY wanna go nuts, I will use the large blade on my Swiss Army knife and carefully remove the frosting off in one disc...and get 3-4 of them for a sugery overload.

Have you seen the PB&J hybrids that someone created by taking a package of the peanut-butter Oreos, a package of the Berry Oreos, then taking one of each type and prying off one cookie from each, then placing the frosting sides of the two remaining 'halves' to form a double-decker sandwich? http://imgur.com/lCcZtLr

A pointy object might indeed be the solution to an only-half-saturated Oreo when it comes to milk drowning. I usually just accept that 1/4-1/3 will be crunchy but I do love the nearly-paste consistency.

The cookies that are truely evil are the new formula Chips Ahoy. Actually, they were changed many years ago. In the long ago before time, they were actually baked and had a touch of carmelized brown outsides and a somewhat more coheasive texture. The current cookies as simply heat polymerized, have a slightly grey cast to them, and have a somewhat homogenous crumbly texture - and taste like meh, even in milk.

FA artist Naira likes Oreos, too (not responsible for damage to your retinas -- click with care). She prefers them dunked in chunky peanut butter -- must be an Australian thing -- at least it isn't Marmite. Anyway, she does a lot of other Furry work in a somewhat more... subtle style.

I loved Oreos, but of course with the diabetes, they're now kryptonite.

Can't say I'd use an xacto knife of all things, but I definitely love milk saturated Oreos over regular ones.

Chocolate milk goes well with them.
