Last month, I had presented several 'photo-ops' of signs throughout Florida with anthropomorphic characters, advertising everything from restaurants and bars to promotional holiday decorations in shopping malls...
For this latest "Throwback Thursday", I have another 'photo-op' of yet another 'funny animal' character, this time promoting condominiums. But first, another backstory...
During the 1990s (my first years down south),
Funimal used to drive me around portions of the 'Sunshine State', when he had weekends off from work. On one particular weekend, we had ventured to the Gulf Coast of Florida, and while driving through the city of Naples, I came across a condo community called Foxfire Apartments - which uses a slightly cartoony vulpine as its mascot...
Whipping out my 35mm camera, I began to take a few pictures of signs throughout Foxfire, depicting said mascot (whose wardrobe usually includes a top hat, a jacket with shirt and tie, dark pants, and a pair of glasses), . This first one is the sign found outside the entrance to the facility - with the fox waving his cane, to get the attention of passing motorists. (He succeeded!)
I hope to post more 'photo-ops' of this foxy mascot (from other portions of Foxfire Apartments in Naples, FL) in future editions of "Throwback Thursday"...

I remember in Missouri Anthro animals as mascots for food places were very common. I remember this one breakfast place that was either called shonis or tonys something along that line. And everything inside the place was littered with this fox guy and several other animals. The tables, walls etc.
