Kraid's Defeat was at the hands of... Fran?
So, Fran loves to cosplay as different characters. She also loves robotics and is highly adept at building things that work. Guess what happens when she combines these two passions :)
Yeah, short of a working energy cannon and Morph Ball mode, that Varia Suit actually works.
So yeah, I'd been wanting to draw Fran as Samus Aran again for quite some time. I wanted another go at it since the last time I drew her in that Varia Suit. It started off simple enough - just something to work on with some nice colours - but like a lot of things I seem to do, it grew into this huge thing where I had to put a whole scene in there. I'm glad for it though :)
Anyway, consider this a double purpose image. It's something for me to flex the art muscle a bit more and maybe make it a print, and it's a notice that I'll be at London Expo next month for those of you going. Hope to see you there!

I figured it'd be best to leave the helmet off so we know it's her, but we could say a friend is carrying it for her :)
Oh and she got the cannon working before, but after she managed to blow a great hole in a wall from too much charge she decided to completely disable it until after the con.

WOOHOOOO I really like the 'cause I know how it feels also it would be very awesome if there was some dressed up as Samus and had it really detailed when I went to Dragoncon we saw Iron man and IT LOOKED AMAZING and it was a group so they had the sires that he did while trying to make the suit anyway I do not know when your birthday is so here HAPPY B DAY =^.^= I hope you get lots of yummy cake that will make your tummy explode lol. p.s. I love this its awesome the drawing I mean I like the colors and the smoothness OH GOD THE SMOOTHNESS ok have fun

I know it has been stated but already but I really like the way you've captured the fact that Fran is in focus but the other figures in the piece are slightly out of focus the further they get away form her. Also having the viewfinder in the picture gives it that snap shot quality!
