                    The cannons don't thunder,
There's nothing to plunder-
I'm an over-forty victim of fate,
Arriving too late,
Arriving too late.
Mother mother ocean,
After all my years, I've found
My occupational hazard be-
My occupation's just not around
I feel like I've drowned
But I won't wear a frown
--Jimmy Buffett
Jimmy Buffett's songs are like the tiramisu of my music needs. Not totally necessary but damn good.
Feeling really weak and noodly-armed. Can I coin that as a term? Noodlyarmed? Usin' it anyway, I think I just need to eat though. And sleep- but I'm gonna fight that for a while. Sorry for the clutterfuck drawing, I had a dream and based this off of it. Really, the only thing I remember from the dream was the weapon.
(And pirates, but I only made a small reference to them in this)
My favorite weapons are axes, scythes, and cleavers. I seriously just adore those babs. But for the last year or so I've been heavily into nautical themes and marine stuff. I've always loved the beach and sharks, but I dunno. I'm hellbent on a nautical-themed bathroom now, it's gotten that bad.
But point being, I'm REALLY digging anchors and helms and ships and stuff. And in the dream I was wielding this badass battle-axe/anchor hybrid weapon. It's basically a perfect anchor, but instead of being open part of the shank, the throat, crown, arm, palm, fluke, and bill are supporting the axe blades.
I'm like,
stupidly and enthusiastically proud of this design. I hardly come up with good stuff ever, I mean- you guys see the characters and concepts I throw out there D8 Total trashboat stuff. But I LOVE this. Maybe because it's not such a huge stretch from both weapon's original structure so in my mind it melds well.
Even thinking about like, designing up teeny little axeanchors/anchoraxes that are single-hand use or throw-able.
Maybe like, even drawing ones that don't have double blades so the 'bare' side of the anchor could be used to snatch shit or as a grappling hook of sorts.
Anyway,
I'm probably gonna eat something now because I'm getting those weird food shivers.
'Nother apology though before I stuff my face, sorry about the inactivity! Been organizing comm info and getting all the refs and notes put in order. And to kind of calm myself down I've also been doing some RL stuff.
It's not much, but it always makes me feel better when I can do little stuff for people. So I took some edible arrangements and flowers to mum's and an edible arrangements to dads and made him dinner.
(If you guys haven't tried Jack Daniel's No. 7 recipe sauce on meatballs, I recommend that shit out the yin yang)
Lastly I took some time to settle the ol' nerves by finishing the second Jurassic Park book, reading some of Amy Poehler's book, sorting through stuff that I can get rid of before the move, putting together a collection of pictures for Ashley of her and her family (I've mentioned them before a few times, but she's losing her husband to cancer. He's hospitalized now and nonresponsive. It's all really devastating even to watch, so I am desperate to do something for her besides drawing/painting her any more stuff), and lastly I put together a sort of 'photo journey' thing.
Not sure if anyone here gives a hoot and a half about my life, but if you wanted to see my dumb adventures (and more importantly, a lot of Savannah pictures! 8D ) then I was considering sharing it.
M-Mind you I'm not as adventurous as most. By my adventures I LITERALLY mean 'what LA considers an adventure'. Like Savannah. Or animals that are cute. Or flowers I buy. Or a really awesome steak. Or too many pictures of my face. Or the sky. Or when it rains outside and it looks really neat on a spiderweb. Y'know, lameballs stuff like that that makes me super happy.
(I was really depressed and going through those pictures to MAKE the album cheered me up some, so there's the origin of that idea ;w; )
OKAY THOUGH FORREAL, OFF TO WHATEVER'S IN THE FRIDGE.

Ha-hay, we can go on adventures together! One pirate to another yargh!
*This reminds me when I was younger, I have tons and tons of books on pirates and I use to run around with this stuffed parrot on my shoulder and go running down this creek, I tried making a boat but... that didn't last too long =3= I did have my own mini island though that I explored with barbie*

"Seven drunken pirates,
we're the seven deadly sins"
;D
(I..I would have chosen a better link but then again watching the clips being fastforwarded like that kind of cracks me up and adds a laugh to an otherwise just good song)
AWE YE PIRATES FOREVER AHHOOYYYY.
I have a creek story! It's not that cool though, I just went out there after it had been flooded for a while (and was barefoot like the idiot savage eleven year old I was) and I got bit by a snake as I tried to run away from it.
Still have the scar on the bottom of my right foot, how Darwinism didn't single me out back then, I'll never know xD

Woowoo!!!
D: that's scary! *love snakes, just dislike the idea of being bitten by snakes* I guess Darwin was just kind of humored that day XD "Like, HA! Look at this dumb kid, you guys seeing this? Ahh man that's good stuff" 'cause Darwin is kind of a dick like that

                    Jimmy Buffettttttttt yes!!
Can I just say, this pirate outfit is ON POINT?!? Super awesome.
You literally nail designs on the head EVERY time. Also, what you're doing for your friends is so super sweet, so glad you're finding joy in that. It never hurts to take some personal time and handle the dreaded real life things!!

                    YASSSSS
I have a mighty need for another Margaritaville restaurant visit. I love that place ;A;
THANK YOU AAAHHH. I kind of wanted her to be a Naval Officer on the outside but actually be a pirate n' stuff undercover forreal. (Pretty much like Barbossa in the 4th POTC)
Thank you for that too ;w; I'm trying to balance it all and keep my head. Really makes you grateful when you see the things people have to deal with that you are blessed to not experience yourself, but it does really drive me to try and help. Unfortunately in situations like that I'm finding out that support is needed, but it's so devastating and tragic- you can't really fix it or know how to make it better. Only time will do that, but it's not going to stop me from trying so here's to hoping that whatever I can do will make her happy for even a minute.

                    Mmm that restaurant sounds amaaaazing!
I totally know what you mean, I at least want to try to relieve as much pain/grief as possible and sometimes that's really hard to do. It's almost humbling in a way that you wish it wasn't. It takes a special kind of person to do what youre doing. It's nice knowing there's people like you around.

Cool! I personally enjoyed axes because there so straightforward and raw in nature.
As for my favorite axe users in media, the white lions of chrace from warhammer fantasy is my choice, because what's not to like about barbarian high elves wielding greataxes and using pure white lions as battle pets.

Too bad I can't fave something twice. Once for the Jimmy Buffett reference, and again for the awesome pirate captain with the ridiculously cool anchor-axe. Her expression says "I can stop the ship, or I can stop YOU. Your choice." Most excellent.
As the son of a son of a sailor, I went out on the sea for adventure.
Expanding the view of the captain and crew like a man just released from indenture.
As a dreamer of dreams and a traveling man, I have chalked up many a mile.
Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks and I've learned much from both of their styles.
Son of a son, son of a son, son of a son of a sailor.
Son of a gun, load the last ton, one step ahead of the jailor.
