That kind of scar is shown a lot in various movies. It's like a one-eyed pirate trope today. If you google for 'eye' and 'scar' in image seach, this is the one that's all over the place :).

Sometimes when characters are made to look different, and very strange colors and palettes or patterns are used, or that gets overboard, it can be a bit... Awkward. Though it was worse several years ago when they often got jewelry and want not ;). Fan Art and lionking art is of course made for those who enjoy it. There is a lot of fan art for many things, and that's not inherently bad.

Mh. Well, the influence has been strong, it's a style many find very appealing; myself included. Hope you find plenty of art to your liking anyway.
