I made a brush to learn how to make textured brushes. So I made a simple one that made a binary pattern.
Then I played around with it. This is the result. I didn't resize it, so I have no idea how well anything will actually show in the pic. Let me know what you think!

I'm currently using a freeware program called Krita to draw. You should try to get a better program if you have a tablet though, like SAI or Photoshop. Krita is still pretty good though, so if you want to learn how to draw using digital mediums I would definitely recommend it!
The binary patterns were made using a custom texture brush I made the other day. I mixed the texture with another brush to get this effect. Makes it a lot less tedious to draw pics like this!
And this is probably not what you were asking about, but the pic was an idea that I got during my software class. The programing language I learning right now is called Python. Also free if you're interested in seriously learning how to develop software.
