Most I do a little post editing to adjust things like saturation and so on if I feel they could use it. Sometimes I like to crop a little bit closer to the subject (I have no issue with cropping, especially when it comes to wildlife like birds XD).
I am using that websharpener thing to get them to JPEG for posting here too ;)

I know a lot of photographers who HATE cropping. Most of the stuff that I know about basic composition I learned from Jared Polin on Youtube.
But I am pretty ok with cropping as well. Some times you just can't frame it perfectly. And I would much rather have a cropped image that I like than no image at all :3
And as long as you don't overdo it there are no real disadvantages.
And that is pretty much how I edit as well. I adjust the contrast, then I do some dodging and burning while adjusting the exposure and highlights, and then I adjust the colors and sharpness. I don't like doing anything beyond that most of the time because I want results with a natural look!
A few days ago I saw how a portrait photographer did a TON of beauty editing... Removing birth marks, smoothing the skin and so on. I don't like that. To me taking a photo is about capturing something that I saw the way I saw it. When you alter a portrait like that it just isn't the person you shot anymore :c The person gets morphed into some ideal beauty standard and I hate that.

Yea pretty much :) I try and frame best I can (this photo for example was almost exactly how you see it, I just cropped a tad from the right, and the smallest bit from the bottom).
Only time I will "beautify" is if there is something really distracting, like fluff plastered to the birds nose. And even then, only if I feel it detracts from the image in some way.
