Well looks like a good start to a new house, are you going to stay with a single story home? I love how you use the snow to give it that winter time look.

Yeah single story. 2x6 walls. I was able to lose about 1600 (2400 if you counted the wraparound covered porches) square feet and get down to about 1900 and add a second garage underneath and i wont miss a single sqft.. The basement garages are 1200 combined sq ft both with in floor heat. Not tall enough for a hoist but real nice. I did not want a mcmansion I wanted something super practical so I don't need much wood to heat it. Even with no insulation or roof it already takes less to heat.

I looked at several McMansions and honestly they sickened me a little bit. Lots of wasted space lots of puffery and families with kids moving away. So they built huge as their kids graduate high school. Not super smart IMO. So I will have a house I can live in for the rest of my life hopefully.

Mouse and I worked out a home of about 500 to 750 square feet would work great for us. But we would need about 4,000 square foot hanger to keep the plane in and some storage/workshop space to the sides.

I should add many people are moving to smaller homes and getting away from the McMansions. One couple less than a mile from me are living in a 12,000 square foot house... just because they have the money burn and yet I bet they don't use 2,000 of those square feet daily if that.
