This is something I should have done four months ago, but I didn't because the reality of the situation was too hard for me to bear. I don't mean to get sappy, but this song is for someone I knew growing up, who was a bright light and a very very talented man. He was athletic, and kind, and though he liked to mix himself in with drugs n'stuff and I didn't care for the stuff, he was my friend. Four months ago, after one of the best days of my life, I got a call telling me that he had committed suicide, and it was surreal! I had had such an amazing time just... going on a date with an amazing guy, and seeing the world outside of my hometown ((I was traveling for the first time) and then boom, this... Awful thing happened.

And I couldn't get it out of my head. Friends helped me, and I was more than just a little out of it for those few weeks, but you know... I cherish them. I doubt very many people even read these things, and if they do, I doubt very many of them are suicidal.

This song is about me overcoming the pain of losing someone that at one point, had been one of my best friends. But for you, if you're feeling down or considering this as even an option... Stop, and consider that obstacle that pushes you so close to the brink the thing this song's telling you to steel yourself against and overcome. Someone will always miss you, I promise you that, and the pain of going through it is worse than anything. I'd pass eleven kidney stones straight over the course of a week just to have him alive again, and I guarantee you someone feels the same about you. So be strong ,and talk to people when you feel that way. Find someone, anyone, before it's too late. Thank you.
