out of curiousity (and I can't afford it right now), but how much would you charge for something like this?

Cake toppers start at $250 and go up depending on size and detail. For all the work I put into this one, I should have charged a lot more than what I did. I do hope they like it though! :D

yeah, they at least could have spoken up... let's hope the marriage didn't get busted or something. :P

My comment was more.. well, I always feel like I undercharge for stuff. The amount I charge covers the materials, but hardly covers my time. I just need to update my costs a bit. hehe

yeh, I know what you mean. $250 sounds reasonable for that statue up there, but I can imagine how long it will take you to sculpt it alone, so a bit upping your prices is resonable as well.

I know an artist from switzerland, :akeyla: , who seems embarassed to charge money for her art, or something. every time I try to give her at least halfway her due for sketches and other pieces of art I end up with some extra stuff. :)

I am aware that higher prices mean also I can't afford less, but all these high-quality artists deserve a little more than pocket change for their efforts.

I actually charged less than $250 for that one up there. I won't say how much though. ;)

I always say my starting price for cake toppers is $250, but I find that I always end up giving discounts, because I feel bad charging that much when a couple are about to get married. I know how broke it can make ya! I'm married myself. Weddings are expensive adventures!!

Anyway.. many artists do charge way too little for their work. Great for buyers, not so great for the artist. I know how it is, I'm an artist and I've been a buyer! heh
