Kind of a copy/paste of what I said to my friend after seeing this post.
I've done that before.
Even going out in the deck at my house at 3am and just look up. I don't get terrified though. It actually eases my mind. The stars are beautiful and thinking about how huge the universe is and how distant those stars are makes me calm. It's interesting. I like to think how small we are compared of everything. Earth isn't perfect. It's just a huge sphere with intelligent (to us) organisms. I usually think about what else is out there when I look. There could be other places with beings similar to us going through similar situations.
It doesn't make you feel so alone. When you look up, don't think about yourself. Think about everything.

Just trying to help a bit ^_^
I used to get scared doing that cause it made me just think about me, but I started spending more time doing it and thinking about other things outside of my own mind. It started to become a way to ease my mind. I put different thoughts into my head and started thinking about everything else out there.
It's a huge universe, we're all light years away from things we see, but there's so much to think about and wonder. You could put your own thoughts into it. It's a big space with things we still don't know about, so painting your own picture and your own discoveries into it is calming.
Ahhh, I can't express myself that well haha. I have never explained these kinds of thoughts to anyone. Especially in this way, so forgive me if I'm not making sense. XD

If i'm being pessimistic or having an off day we are all nothing, our 'consciousness' is a side effect of brain functions, that humans shouldn't technically exist, that there is nothing. My life doesn't matter. No one matters. But on my usual days I see reality. The core of what we are, the particles that make up everything superscede time and space, they teleport, they keep track of each other and can change to match the other instantly even being miles away. That humans, when we observe particles we affect them. Our intent changes outcomes, it changes water, vibes, and each other. There may be tons of other life out there but they are most likely thinking and feeling the same thing we are. There may be life ahead of us and behind us. Yes we are tiny, but we are eternal.
Anyways that was poorly written i'm really tired and probably skipped my point somewhere in there
i really like this picture, your emotions really came through, i love the pose, the lines, everything~

My roommate and I are opposites. While the vastness of the universe and the futility and insignificance of our whole existence terrifies him, it feels amazingly freeing to me.
It's strange I suppose that someone could have a nihilistic view but not be depressed. It's honestly beautiful to me that by chance we have come to exist and have this short time to experience consciousness in this vast, amazing place.
